![]() Those large-scale features will continue to govern our weather into at least midweek. Southern New England's weather is governed by an anomalous upper level low and its related cold pocket of air aloft (850 temps -4C) to our west over the Gt Lakes region with a weak sfc sea level pressure pattern. Current temps in the mid 50s to lower 60s, stratus having been replaced with a mix of stratocu streets through modest heating as well as sunshine. It's turned into a seasonably cool but overall pleasant afternoon after morning stratus dispersed. Generally near to slightly below normal temperatures expected. The next chance of widespread rain arrives sometime Sunday or next Monday. Driest stretch of weather may come Friday and Saturday, as Canadian High pressure builds east of New England, although likely remaining slightly cooler than normal. More hit-or- miss showers for Wednesday Thursday. While dry most of the time, a few of these showers and storms may produce small hail. A passing disturbance aloft will bring increasing clouds with scattered showers and thundershowers on Tuesday. An upper level low pressure area will move into and settle over Southern New England this week.
